Local taxi driver Ashley, recently saved the life of a local man from Bridgend thanks to skills he learnt from attending a three day first aid course arranged by Bridgend Communities First.

Ashley was on his usual weekend shift when, due to skills he learnt from Bridgend Communities First’s first aid course, conducted CPR on his male passenger and rang for an ambulance. Ashley also attended a Bridgend Communities First safeguarding children and young people course which reminded him to ensure that his female passenger got home safely.

Ashley said:

“I wanted to share the story of what happened so that other people will see the importance of first aid. I hope that it will inspire more people to take the opportunity to learn about the topic so that they too can use it to save a life if needed.”
