Children and families

In the past year, Bridgend Communities First has supported nearly 900 children. Our Family Engagement Officers, Family Support Workers and Basic Skills Tutors work with referred children and their families to address issues such as poor behaviour, lack of parental support and engagement with school. After school clubs helps to engage pupils and their parents whilst improving their literacy and numeracy skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Working with over 50s

Bridgend Communities First also works with over 50s who are economically inactive members of the community. Our officers undertake initial basic skills assessments and offer support to address often extremely low confidence levels and self-esteem, to enable them to progess into more formal learning.
